The Philosophy

Gentle care keeps good design timeless.

Our lighting pieces are created to feel lived-in rather than disposable. Natural wood, ceramic surfaces, woven textures, fabric shades and carefully finished metal details each develop their own character over time.

The best approach is simple: dust regularly, handle every component gently, keep moisture away from electrical parts, and allow the materials to breathe. Avoid aggressive cleaning products or unnecessary polishing.

Most everyday maintenance requires nothing more than a soft, dry cloth and a little patience.

01
Fabric Shades
Keep textiles clean, dry and protected from excessive moisture.
02
Wood & Natural Materials
Preserve the warmth of natural surfaces with gentle dry cleaning.
03
Ceramic & Hard Surfaces
Use soft cloths and avoid abrasive cleaners.
04
Electrical Components
Always disconnect power before cleaning or adjusting.

Material by
material.

Different materials respond differently to light, humidity, dust and cleaning products. Treat each surface according to its nature rather than using one method for everything.

01

Fabric & Linen

Gently remove dust with a clean, soft brush, feather duster or dry microfiber cloth. Avoid soaking fabric shades or applying cleaning sprays directly onto the textile. If a small mark appears, use minimal moisture on a soft cloth and dab rather than rub. Allow the shade to dry completely before reconnecting power.

02

Natural Wood

Wipe wooden surfaces with a soft, dry cloth following the natural direction of the grain. Avoid excessive water, alcohol-based cleaners and abrasive sponges. Natural wood may gradually develop subtle changes in tone as it ages, which is part of its character and natural beauty.

03

Ceramic

Ceramic bases can generally be cleaned with a soft cloth lightly dampened with water. Dry the surface immediately afterward. Do not use rough scouring pads or strong chemical cleaners, particularly on textured, matte or hand-finished areas.

04

Metal Finishes

Dust metal components regularly using a soft cloth. Avoid polishing compounds unless they are specifically suitable for the particular finish. Brushed, aged, antique and matte finishes are intended to retain their visual character rather than appear highly polished.

Warm interior lighting detail
A quieter routine

Dust is often the only thing standing between a lamp and its original glow.

A regular light dusting prevents particles from building up around the shade, base and small details. For frequently used lamps, a gentle cleaning once every few weeks is usually enough.

Always switch the lamp off and allow the bulb and surrounding components to cool before beginning any cleaning routine.

The four-minute
care ritual.

A simple routine can protect your lighting without turning maintenance into a chore. Work slowly, use light pressure and never clean an energized lamp.

STEP 01

Switch Off

Turn the lamp off, disconnect it from the power source when appropriate, and wait until the bulb and fittings are completely cool.

STEP 02

Dust Gently

Use a soft, clean cloth or brush to remove surface dust from the shade, base and exposed details.

STEP 03

Spot Clean

For suitable hard surfaces, use a barely damp cloth. Never saturate fabric, wood or electrical components.

STEP 04

Let It Rest

Make sure every cleaned surface is completely dry before reconnecting and using the lamp again.

Do

  • Use clean, soft and non-abrasive cloths.
  • Dust shades regularly before dirt accumulates.
  • Disconnect electrical products before cleaning.
  • Handle ceramic and glass components with both hands.
  • Keep lamps away from unnecessary moisture.
  • Allow natural materials to age naturally.

Avoid

  • Do not spray cleaner directly onto a lamp.
  • Do not soak fabric shades or wooden components.
  • Do not use abrasive sponges or scouring pads.
  • Do not clean a lamp while it is connected to power.
  • Do not force removable components during cleaning.
  • Do not use chemicals unless they are suitable for the material.
Everyday Safety

Care is also about keeping the light comfortable and safe.

Keep ventilation areas clear and avoid placing lamps where water may regularly splash onto electrical components. Replace bulbs according to the recommended specification for your particular product and never exceed the maximum wattage indicated for the fitting.

If a cord, plug, socket or other electrical component becomes visibly damaged, discontinue use and seek appropriate professional assistance rather than attempting an improvised repair.

Allow bulbs to cool before handling.
Use the recommended bulb specification.
Keep electrical connections dry.
Do not exceed the stated wattage.
Stop using visibly damaged components.

Let the materials grow into your home.

At Juniper Lanes, we believe lighting should become more personal with time. Small changes in wood, textile, ceramic and finish are not imperfections β€” they are part of the story of a piece that is being lived with. For product-specific questions, contact us at service@juniperlanes.store.
